Bodegas Vega Sicilia was founded in 1864 in northern Spain. Using various grapes from the Bordeaux region including Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, wine expert Hugh Johnson compared Vega Sicilia to Câteau Latour. It is recognised as one of the finest and most valued red wines on the market.
